Excited For The X- Factor?

So if you've been out anywhere or have been watching tv lately than you've seen the previews and billboards for Fox's new singing competition series The X Factor. I don't know about anyone else but for some reason I'm strangely excited for the show's debut in a few weeks. For those of you not in the know, click the link and get familiar.

Many people see The X Factor commercials and think... Did American Idol change their name? The answer is NO! Although The X Factor and American Idol have many similarities, including network, they are two different shows. No doubtedly inspired by Idol, "X Factor" is a reality competition that Simon Cowell created, executive produces, and appears on as a judge. While it incorporates elements of "Idol," it also differs in several key areas. Similarities between "Factor" and "Pop Idol" Unlike "Idol", "X Factor" begins with an audition round, where contestants, who can be solo artist or groups, perform in front of not only judges but a live audience as well. Acts that make the cut are then sent on to a so-called "boot camp" round. Following another elimination during boot camp, the remaining singers are then assigned a judge who mentors them, sort of like The Voice". Finally, 12 singers are sent through to the final round: live televised performances that have viewers vote for their favorites. The British show's most notable winner is Leona Lewis, who triumphed during the third season. The U.S. version launching September 21st, 2011 features familiar faces as judges.

U.K. model turned television host Steve Jones is the host of X Factor.
American singer and former head Pussycat Doll in charge, Nicole Scherzi-whateverthehell was supposed to be Jones' cohost but once U.K. singer Cheryl Cole flopped as a judge, her seat on the panel was quickly taken by Scherzinger, leaving Jones to solo hosting duties. Scherzinger obviously is looking forward to using X Factor as a trampoline to jump start her oft-delayed solo endeavors in the U.S.
Obviously Randy Jackson is a little tied up over at Idol so his "token black guy" role is going to be filled by Antonio "L.A." Reid, most famously known as Pebbles' ex-husband, father of Aaron Ried from MTV's My Super Sweet 16, co-founder of LaFace records and the man responsible for discovering such acts as Pink, Justin Bieber, Toni Braxton, TLC, Usher, Ciara, OutKast, and Dido. LA is the big winner of the show because with the X Factor gig, he also recieved a job as Chairman & CEO of the Epic Label Group
X Factor is definitely picking up the ball where American Idol dropped it a few years ago by reuniting Simon and Paula. The dynamic duo had a chemistry that Ellen lacked, that Kara lacked and even J.Lo and Steven Tyler can't recreate. They went from feuding to being like the cutest non-couple. I'm looking forward to them reuniting on this show, and I know I'm not the only one.

X Factor premieres September 21st, will you be watching?
