Tyler Perry TV: For Better or Worse

With 16 plays, 15 movies, and 2 television shows you would think Tyler Perry would be basking in his own glory but no ma'am! The quadruple-threat actor/ writer/ director /producer is only expanding and branding more and more. In 2009 Perry spoke of his desire to start a television network much like his bestie Oprah, and fast-forward to 2011 it seems like that dream may be coming to fruition. Perry's cable network which the New York Times reports will be called "Tyler TV" is on the minds of many including  Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer...
But will it be on our televisions?

"He is a rare piece of talent that can bring an audience anywhere... Tyler is one of those rare resources that one could launch a channel with. We have a lot of options if we choose to go down that path." said Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer on a conference call with financial analysts.

The New York Times reported that the Tyler Perry venture would initially be stocked with reruns of his sitcoms and airings of his many films. While Feltheimer said that a course of action with the proposed Tyler TV hadn't been established but that it might begin with a purchase of an existing channel that would then be rebranded, or it could be rolled into a network it already owns, such as the TV Guide Channel.
I'm not holding my breath for this one. There's a whole lot of "if"s, "possibly"s, "could"s and "would"s all through those reports so obviously nothing is concrete.

What is concrete from Tyler Perry and is definitely coming to a living room near you is his new sitcom "Tyler Perry's For Better or Worse" he always makes sure to throw his name in the mix to let y'all know who running shit!

For Better or Worse, debuting on TBS November 23rd, 2011 is a comedy-drama series starring Tasha Smith and Michael Jai White reprising their roles from the films Why Did I Get Married? and Why Did I Get Married Too?

TBS has only ordered ten episodes of the show, but if it gets good ratings it will be expanded to a full fledged series with multiple seasons. Will you be watching?
